Sokra is a French rapper from Nîmes. For several months now, he has been making his mark on the music scene with a series of impactful singles. He has just released a new track titled “Ghetto Youth”, a truly explosive piece.
With Sokra, it’s pure “Ghetto Youth”!
The production of this track is crafted by Toto Beats and Sneaky Beats. Toto Beats has previously collaborated with Jul on tracks such as “Cœur blessé”, “Cœur de pirate”, and “Amour et Paix”. He has also worked with Moha MMZ on the track “Habitué”. The production of “Ghetto Youth” is dense and rich, far from the minimalist drill of the 75, and is marked by an omnipresent siren throughout the track.
Despite his supposed young age, Sokra excels in gangsta rap. His corrosive egotrip and sharp depiction of street life are revealed in a few incisive lines:
“Sur la côte, je tape du saumon
Autour de moi, j’ai vu les piranhas
Je la bip seulement quand je suis potion
Je vais la péter, elle est déjà en pyjama”
The very street-style visual of this track is also created by Carecfort, who previously directed the visual for Many Santana a year ago.
