In 2024, Stavo surprises his audience with a conceptual double album: “Once Upon a Time” and “Avoid Misery”. He follows that up with high-profile features alongside Josman, TH, Osirus Jack, and Lesram. Although the collective 13 Block remains active, each member now forges their own path. Both Zed, Stavo, and OldPee have released solo projects.
From the moment TVX dropped, Stavo made it clear that he wasn’t going to “sell his soul” to the industry. His project Dark with 0% Zumba cements his reputation as the coldest trap artist in 13 Block—someone who unapologetically rejects melody.
In 2024, Le Mouv’ released a feature on him, highlighting his refusal to diversify his repertoire and his commitment to pure trap. His latest release is the music video for “Empire”, filmed in Canada by David DelaPlace.
Stavo Unveils “Empire”
The track is produced by the duo Kiddy Luks & Melo with da heat, who recently teamed up on Niro’s comeback track “Assimile”. Notably, Kiddy Luks also crafted “T’es mon DEL” for Damso’s latest release.
The production is dark and minimalistic, creating the perfect backdrop for Stavo to unleash his raw, gritty vocals. Excerpt:
“We value quality—when it’s weak, for us it’s weak… 93, we’re in the trenches / we don’t puff out our chests.”
The video, shot in a Canadian suburban neighborhood by photographer David DelaPlace, captures Stavo moving through everyday residential settings. The split-screen visuals—often divided into three frames—evoke the style of films like Pi and Requiem for a Dream by Darren Aronofsky. The color palette is cool-toned, sometimes intentionally blurred, reinforcing the conceptual nature of the clip.
