Sïana unveils “Menteur”: a afrobeat breakup anthem marking a fresh start

Sïana, a young self-taught artist, is stepping back into the spotlight with “Menteur”, an afrobeat -infused track that’s both catchy and sharp. The song tells the story of a toxic relationship, narrated with distance and irony—choosing lightness over bitterness. The beat, produced by Mr X , her beatmaker and sound engineer, gives the track its infectious energy.

A candid journey: setbacks and personal revival

Hailing from Annecy, Sïana has been writing and singing since childhood. In 2019, she entered a recording studio for the first time—and never looked back. But in 2021, a serious accident suddenly halted her creative process. For nearly three years, she kept writing but didn’t release any music, paralyzed by a lack of inspiration and self-doubt. It wasn’t until early 2024 that she reignited her spark and returned to her craft with renewed energy.

Several key encounters—most notably a dinner hosted by Philipe Schein (SportBiz)—and her unwavering determination to reclaim her voice led to the rebirth of her musical project. A callout on Instagram for a producer led her to Mr X, who quickly became a trusted creative partner.

A new single, a handcrafted vision

Her first demos and released tracks weren’t recorded alone in her home studio—they were done with the help of a friend in his studio. She’s only just beginning to learn the recording process herself, not out of passion, but to gain autonomy in crafting rough versions of her songs. “Menteur” embodies this artistic rebirth. Embracing afrobeat rhythms, the song is a joyful form of closure—a confident way of turning the page. Sïana edited the music video herself using archive footage, opting for a raw, unfiltered aesthetic that aligns with her independent and hands-on approach.

An artist grounded in community

Alongside her musical releases, Sïana remains deeply connected to her local scene. Since her first performance in 2020 in Cran-Gevrier, she has continued to create space for independent voices. In 2025, for the Fête de la Musique, she organized two open-air concerts by the lake—with no stage, just a microphone, a powerful speaker, and the support of the city hall. She shared the stage with L’Homme GP, a fellow local artist with whom she’s working on a joint project.

With “Menteur”, Sïana opens a new chapter—one of freedom, authenticity, and reconnection with her audience. It’s a strong first step from an artist who’s only just begun to reveal the full scope of her creative voice.
