Roshi and Gradur stay ‘Sans Nouvelles’!
From the first notes of the instrumental composition by Amine Farsi, one can feel that Roshi sets a melancholic and heavy atmosphere. Amine Farsi, the composer of the piece, is one of the most recognized beatmakers in France. He has contributed to the rise of the Drill wave by collaborating on several titles with Freeze Corleone. In fact, it was with this rapper he worked on ‘Fraud’, the flagship title of his EP ‘Farsi’, released in 2022. Before working with Roshi, Amine Farsi had also produced an EP in collaboration with the artist 3arbi, consisting of powerful tracks.
The beatmaker and his rapper succeed in creating a unique ambiance. Roshi speaks of the end of a romantic relationship against a backdrop of melancholy. Gradur, putting aside his Sheguey energy, merges into this somewhat cloudy universe. The video, just like the track, illustrates from all angles a dreamlike side that the three artists develop.
In the visual, Roshi wanders around his neighborhood in Paris, where one might recognize some scenes shot at La Villette. The video format is reminiscent of VHS. Through this mystification of photography, Arthur Keasy adds a deep sense of elevation to the title. This director is very active in French rap; he notably directed the feature of Koba LaD and Zola on ‘No Return’.
