Rim’K and L2B ride the French Riviera wave!

Rim’K is a cornerstone of French rap history. With 113, he left a lasting mark and won a Victoire de la Musique at a time when rap was still relegated to the urban music category, often seen by the mainstream as an exotic curiosity. Since then, his journey has been monumental.

Among pioneers, two paths usually emerge: those who remain frozen in their original codes, and those like Rim’K, who embrace the new generation while absorbing their influences. Already with Air Max, he teamed up with Ninho, a leader of the new wave, and has kept building from there. His album Mutant, released in 2018 and certified platinum, still feels relevant today. Since then, he’s kept delivering projects: Lifat Mat (2024) and Run (2025), featuring heavyweights like Kekra, SDM, Sofiane Pamart, and TIF—including a powerful track dedicated to Algeria.

In Le Code, the artist explained his vision of collaborations: a creative playground he sees as a challenge, like a football player learning a new trick and pulling it out in the next game. It’s a philosophy that clearly pays off. His recent tracks prove it, especially his link-up with L2B, the breakout group from Champigny-sur-Marne (94). With Nés pour briller, they’ve been smashing records and embodying the fresh wave the 94 had been waiting for since the era of Mafia K’1 Fry.

Rim’K and L2B ride the French Riviera wave!

The production is handled by none other than Dany Synthé, one of the few French beatmakers whose name has become a seal of quality. He’s the mastermind behind the explosive Sapé comme jamais by Gims and Niska, a track crowned at the Victoires de la Musique. Within the culture, his sound is instantly recognizable. Rim’K has also teamed up with Booba on two smoother cuts—Petite fille and Trône—often described as urban songs. With French Riviera, he dives headfirst into L2B’s party-driven universe, dropping a track built for summertime vibes.

Rim’K sprinkles in punchlines full of egotrip, but always with his trademark elegance:

The whole family in mafioso shirts, bills floating in the jacuzzi
I made the trip at night, our cars shaped aerodynamically
Down your block with a ski mask, at dawn I vanish like a gypsy

The chemistry is undeniable between Tonton and the rising stars of L2B, who carry forward the spirit of the three-part series Nés pour briller. The video was directed by Axel Haze, who had already collaborated with Rim’K and Kekra on Go. He also helmed Violet (Uzi and RK) and Danilo (Nahir), cementing his place as one of today’s most inspired visual creators.
