Niro made a strong impression in 2023 with the release of his ambitious album Taulier, featuring an impressive lineup of guests such as Tayc, Niska, Sofiane Pamart, Alpha Wann, and ElGrandeToto. A seasoned artist, Niro continues to evolve creatively, staying true to his vision: pushing boundaries without ever losing the trust of his audience.
On Instagram, Niro recently announced that he had surpassed the symbolic milestone of one billion streams on Spotify. An impressive feat that reflects the consistency of an artist for whom discipline and integrity are more than just slogans—they are a lifestyle.
Hailing from Blois, the rapper is preparing to unveil a new chapter of his discography with the upcoming album Hayati, set for release on July 4th. A newly released teaser track hints at a deep and introspective collaboration with British rapper Potter Payper.
After crafting a powerful urban western, Niro now joins forces with Potter Payper on a poignant and personal track where both artists confront their demons in a raw, emotionally charged atmosphere.
Niro and Potter Payper ask the question: Why do you love me?
The production is handled by 2K, a heavyweight in French beatmaking. A former member of Double X, he has shaped the sound of elite rappers for over 15 years, working with names like Guizmo, SCH, and Werenoi.
Most recently, he produced the second episode of JKSN’s Génération Foirée, who—according to the latest updates—might soon be released from prison. On this track, 2K delivers a minimalistic beat, built around a haunting vocal loop and a classic rhythm section that brings the focus back to introspective rap.
Niro reconnects with what has always been his strength: raw, lucid, unapologetic storytelling. In a powerful verse, he reflects on his past struggles, the absence of light, and the invisible wounds that linger beneath the surface.
He writes: Today’s behaviors are yesterday’s scars. A line that echoes the words of Diam’s:
No one comes out of the ghetto unscathed.
“I don’t like my ego, even when you try to flatter it
I want to hide, I feel ashamed, that’s the only reason I lower my head
They call it humility, they say it’s staying grounded
I call it respect for my brother
Don’t forget, I was in the shadows long before I ever saw the light”
Potter Payper delivers with the same emotional weight, his bars unfiltered and honest:
“Remind me I was poor, where I’m coming from is empty
Fridge empty, belly empty, my heart’s empty
Can forget if you let me, just don’t regret me
All these prison numbers, I’m still an incumbent”
The music video, directed by Hypnoz, is visually compelling. Shot around Paris, including the iconic Bir-Hakeim viaduct, it blends urban grit with cinematic elegance.
Hypnoz continues to make waves in the scene. Recently, he was behind a clip for Maes, and previously directed the visuals for Feu by Pit Baccardi, as well as La Var by Nej’ and Keblack.
