Nej’ expands her fairy tale with “Abracadabra”

Nej’ unveils SOS Chapter IV: Paranormal this Friday, a monumental 40-track project featuring collaborations with Franglish, Vegedream, Lune, Tagne, and Tawsen. While the previous chapters of this musical saga explored her emotions and love experiences through an intimate lens—often inspired by her personal journey and those around her—this new opus marks a turning point.

After captivating her audience with the mesmerizing visuals of Irréel 2, the natural continuation of Irréel from SOS Chapter 3, Nej’ continues her musical odyssey with an ever more immersive storytelling approach.

Nej’ extends her fairy tale with “Abracadabra”

With Abracadabra, Nej’ continues to weave a unique musical universe, blending R’n’B, French pop, and Oriental influences. Her artistic DNA is deeply rooted in the sounds she grew up with, as she explained in an interview with PureCharts:

"My older sister sings. I grew up listening to Prince, Michael Jackson, Brandy, Monica, and other major R'n'B icons. At home, it was always a mix of R'n'B and Arabic music. I've always been a huge fan of Beyoncé and dreamed of being like her. But it was Céline Dion who inspired me to start singing."

A visual gem on par with Irréel 2: Nej’ elevates her artistry with Abracadabra

The track’s musical composition is crafted by Mona Nasreddine, who previously worked on Irréel 2 and Warda. Her expertise also shines in several standout tracks from SOS Chapter IV: Paranormal, including Mes Nuits, J’attends, Maman, Demon, and Anna. Sonically, Abracadabra is a refined fusion of violin, cello, and an irresistibly catchy pop chorus. This sophisticated blend of eras and styles perfectly embodies the duality between tradition and modernity that defines Nej’.

In this track, she unveils a spellbinding lyricism, telling a story of passion and heartbreak wrapped in a fairy-tale setting:

"You know, love words mean nothing when they come from your mouth."

A magical visual experience by Usef Naït

Under the direction of Usef Naït, Abracadabra transforms into a visual masterpiece. The director, who previously worked on Irréel 2 and Warda, delivers an exquisite fairy-tale-inspired aesthetic. The refined cinematography and narrative depth make the video feel more like a short film than a standard music video, reflecting Nej’‘s ambitious artistic vision.

With Abracadabra, she continues to assert her identity, seamlessly blending dreamlike storytelling with modern artistry to create a timeless, immersive experience.
