Nej’ and KeBlack summon “La Var”!

Nej’ unveiled her latest project, SOS IV: Paranormal, on January 31, 2025. A bold and immersive release, the project blurs the lines between R’n’B, soul, and Middle Eastern influences. Through carefully crafted, cinematic visuals, she builds a universe that lives somewhere between dream and reality.

Despite her young age, Nej’ is far from a newcomer. Her powerful vocals were already making waves alongside Rohff on the track Détrôné—a collaboration that hinted at her immense potential early on.

True to her artistic instincts, she shares:
“I wanted to mix my roots, my emotions… I added more R&B, a touch of oriental pop, to refresh my world. My inspiration comes from my stories, my experiences, and the people I meet.”

And she may have just delivered this summer’s breakout hit, teaming up with KeBlack on the track La Var. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes—à la Harry PotterKeBlack proves once again he’s a master of the banger. La Var is already emerging as one of the most in-demand tracks on summer playlists.

The track’s production is helmed by Nordine Achalhi and LeMagicien, two standout names in the French urban music scene.

Nordine Achalhi had already collaborated with Nej’ on the track Habille-moi de ton nom, and has also produced for Lartiste, notably on the track Ça me va. The two share a delicate, emotional approach to music—both intimate and universal.

LeMagicien, also known as Salah The Magics, is one of the architects of Nej’’s signature sound. He’s behind tracks like Derrière moi, Khalass, and Bah ouais (for KeBlack). With La Var, he delivers a radiant, summer-ready afrobeat production made to get people moving.

The duo play with romantic tension—flirting between seduction, confrontation, and veiled vulnerability:

“No debate, when you wear that, you look so fine
Tell your mom you’ll be home late, ’cause when you say that, I lose my mind
You don’t know, when it’s just you and me, that’s who I am
I’m not myself when you and I don’t talk anymore”

The video, styled like a peek behind the velvet ropes of stardom, was directed by Hypnoz. The in-demand director is also behind standout visuals like En vrai de vrai by Djadja & Dinaz, Brave 4 by Landy, and Rivoli by Maes.
