Martinow unveils Yakuza: between sunny vibes and introspection

Independent artist from Blois, Martinow continues to make his mark on the French rap scene with a style all his own. After several years of creative exploration, he now releases the video for Yakuza—a new milestone in a journey driven by authenticity, passion, and perseverance.

For over a decade, Martinow has been living for music. Influenced by iconic artists like Jul and Naps, he’s built a unique sound universe, blending “melodic rap”, “sun-drenched grooves”, and “heartfelt lyrics”. With Yakuza, he doubles down on his signature style, offering a track that’s both “uplifting” and “emotionally charged”. On production duties, we find Toto Beats, best known for his collaboration with Jul on the track “Rosé Jetski Playa”.

The video, self-directed by Martinow, immerses viewers in a Japanese-inspired garden that mirrors the mood of the song. Designed as a summer anthem, the track features “Mediterranean-flavored” sonics, echoing an aesthetic that’s winning over more and more artists. Many have adopted the sunny style Jul has helped popularize as far as Sweden.

By naming the track after the infamous Japanese crime syndicate, Martinow plays with imagery while delivering a song that’s both exotic and accessible—a true “taste of summer” that blends “lightness” with “mystery”.
