MALICKING Unveils “MK ULTRA”: A Bold Afro-Bass EP with Unstoppable Energy

0

Born in Abidjan and holding French nationality, MALICKING returns with a powerful, radical, and highly danceable project: MK ULTRA, a five-track EP that distills the very essence of his artistic journey. Positioned at the crossroads of digital experimentation, Afro-fusion, and urban energy, this project marks a pivotal step in the evolution of an artist who defies convention.

Real name Sada Malick Cissé, MALICKING has always navigated between continents, disciplines, and artistic styles. He began his creative path in breakdancing, forged his identity between Africa and Europe, and ultimately turned to music after a life-altering accident. As early as 2009, he made his mark with a futuristic, genre-blending sound, through tracks like Pour les halls and 123 GO!, merging hip-hop, electronic beats, and urban culture.

But it wasn’t until 2013 that he truly reached a wider audience, with the visually striking video for TVFC and a win at the RapNoStress contest. His rising profile led to TV appearances on shows like Talent Street (France Ô) and Zoom (Trace Urban France), where his free-spirited, boundary-breaking style came into full view.

MK ULTRA: A Rhythmic, Sensual, and Mind-Bending Journey

Launched with the lead single Bouger, MK ULTRA embodies a bold artistic mission: to make people dance without diluting the message. Infused with Afro-bass vibes and textures reminiscent of UK bass music, Bouger acts as a sonic call to release the body, to celebrate joy and movement as acts of resistance.

Yet the EP dives deeper. Each track unfolds like a sensory chapter, weaving together tribal percussion, electronic layers, subtle autotune, and an undeniable urban pulse. MALICKING explores a wide spectrum of themes—identity, resilience, sensuality, and inner revolt—while holding onto one core vision: to upend the rules of contemporary Afro-urban music.

A Fully Assumed Cyber-Afro Aesthetic

More than just an EP, MK ULTRA is a sonic manifesto. The project’s title nods to the dark history of mind control experiments, but here, MALICKING flips the narrative to assert creative independence. He blurs genre lines, challenges conventions, and cultivates a bold cyber-afro aesthetic where ancestral rhythms collide with futuristic tones.

This release confirms MALICKING’s growing momentum within the alternative Afro scenes, both in France and across Francophone Africa. Following acclaimed tracks like YE PAPA and Normal—praised by outlets such as RFI, Trace Urban, and Nostalgie Côte d’IvoireMK ULTRA achieves a new balance between heritage and innovation, between raw energy and the art of the groove.
