Some artists seem destined for music from an early age. Born in Libreville, Gabon, Kame Baby grew up immersed in melodies, nurtured by the harmonies of gospel music. His mother, a choir director in a church, introduced him to the fundamentals of musicality, shaping his artistic DNA without him even realizing it. Today, gospel’s influence is deeply rooted in urban music. Think of Kendrick Lamar, who enhances his tracks with gospel samples, or Chance The Rapper and his project “Color”, entirely inspired by gospel. The richness of urban music often blurs genre boundaries, making it hard to define in a single way.
Before stepping into the spotlight, Kame Baby honed his skills behind the scenes as a composer. Inspired by American R’n’B legends like Boyz II Men, he refined his style, balancing emotion and technique. In 2020, he took a major leap by competing in the Francophone Africa edition of The Voice, reaching the quarter-finals. This experience gave him the push he needed to move to France in 2021 and establish himself in the music industry.
On January 18, Kame Baby released ASHA Tome 1, an acronym for “Aimer sans Honnêteté Amoureuse” (“Loving Without Honest Love”). Designed as a narrative, this EP delves into the complexities of relationships through six tracks, each representing a different stage of a love story. Much like conceptual albums from Ghostface Killah or Beyoncé with “Lemonade”, Kame Baby embraces **timeless and immersive storytelling**. To him, love stories often end “badly”, yet they are the only ones that stand the test of time.
With Par amour, a standout track from the EP, the artist delivers a mesmerizing visual that captures the full complexity of love and emotion.
Kame Baby does it “Par amour” !
The instrumental production of this track is crafted by the talented Z3NA. On Genius, Z3NA Beats is notably credited for Ça va by Mademoiselle Lou. Staying true to Kame Baby‘s musical identity, “Par amour” seamlessly blends **Afro R’n’B** with modern influences, creating a track with an irresistible groove. A perfect balance between **emotion and rhythm**, where every note tells a story.
Lyrically, Kame Baby shines through his raw authenticity. Unlike the typical “bad boy” persona, he lays bare his emotions with striking sincerity:
“Ça fait mal d’avoir aimé sans retour / J’ai donné par amour.”
Through these words, he reflects on a **universal heartbreak**, a feeling of disappointment that many can relate to. Was it the right person? Maybe not. But by the end of the song, Kame Baby avoids bitterness, choosing instead a **clear-eyed reflection** on past mistakes.

The music video, masterfully directed by SIINAPSE, perfectly encapsulates the song’s **immersive storytelling**. Though relatively low-key, this director has collaborated with several renowned artists. His work on “Par amour” showcases a **keen attention to detail and refined aesthetics**, delivering a visual that elevates the song’s emotional depth.
