Freeze Corleone – Shavkat

In 2020, Freeze Corleone unveiled “La menace fantôme,” an album that made a significant impact in French rap. In terms of numbers, it reached the top spot in the French Drill charts and quickly achieved platinum status. However, the project was also marred by accusations of antisemitism from certain associations. His track “Freeze Raël” was taken down from Skyrock, and a question was raised about it in the Assemblée Nationale. Then Minister of Culture, Roselyne Bachelot, condemned the rapper’s behavior as unacceptable, even though she acknowledged his talent.

A few years later, Freeze Corleone released a collaborative album with Ashe22, his partner from Lyonzon, with whom he had previously launched the freestyles “Scellé.” The project titled “Ryiad Sadio” was well received by Drill fans.

Currently, the rapper is preparing for the release of his upcoming project titled “L’attaque des clones” on September 11th. He has already revealed the first extract from this album, titled “Shavkat,” produced by Therapy Music and Flem, two iconic French rap beatmakers. Therapy is credited with pioneering the Trap movement in France, which he launched alongside Kaaris with the album “Or Noir.” As for Flem, he is well-known as a major player in the Drill Music scene in France, having worked on numerous projects.

With “Shavkat,” Freeze Corleone showcases his talent in flow and Drill, making him one of the prominent figures in the movement in France. He also addressed the controversy surrounding the promotion of his last album with a daring punchline: “I’d rather be accused of antisemitism than rape like Gérald Darmanin.” This punchline refers to the accusations leveled against the Minister of the Interior at the time, Gérald Darmanin.

The music video for “Shavkat,” directed by Piege Studio, is praised for its cleanliness and effectiveness, reflecting the characteristic style of the rapper, both impactful and scandalous.
