Franglish and Kalash light it up on “Wine Slow”!

Franglish unveiled his ambitious new project “AURA x G-WAVE” on April 12. The album brings together an all-star lineup including Dinos, Gradur, Kalash, Zed, Monsieur Nov, Merveille, the ever-consistent La Mano 1.9, Sonny Rave, and Kulurr. In its debut week, the project posted strong numbers: nearly 11,409 units sold across all formats and close to 15 million streams. Franglish’s popularity shows no signs of fading.

He’s back in the spotlight with a collaboration alongside Kalash, a major figure in the Caribbean scene. While in Guadeloupe for the Aqua Music Festival, Franglish revealed that he was a dancer before he became a rapper. He also shared how much he enjoyed his time on the island, even though a packed schedule didn’t allow him to explore it fully—much like his brief visit to Kinshasa, his ancestral homeland, where he only stayed for a day.

The track’s production is handled by a heavyweight trio: Gaby, StillNAS, and BGRZ. Gaby has previously worked with Tiakola on “Protect” and with Gazo on “Selele”. StillNAS, a powerhouse on the French beatmaking scene, is known for the hard-hitting “Balayer” by 13 Block, and has already teamed up with Franglish on the track “EX”.

The instrumental feels like a genre-blending medley, moving fluidly across different sonic landscapes. Franglish and Kalash deliver a heartfelt tribute to Afro-Caribbean culture through a skillful blend of dancehall and reggaeton influences. The track evolves over time, marked by two clear transitions, though it doesn’t follow a traditional three-part structure.

The tone leans fully into egotrip territory—bold, festive, and flashy:

“I used to flop, now I’m on top
Stack after stack, we cash in non-stop
Don’t play the badman, fuck your block
We’re full up, we’re many men”

The video, drenched in a shadowy, underground party vibe, was directed by Arthur Keasy for Kairos Production. Keasy adds another standout piece to his résumé, following up previous visuals like “Hermès” by Gazo, “Pélican” by L2B, and “Probation” by Gazo.
