On February 10th, Doc OVG unveiled his latest project, Para Bellum 1, entirely produced by the talented Richie Beats. As a rising figure within the 667 collective led by Freeze Corleone, he stands out with a dark, esoteric take on drill music—far removed from the more mainstream approach of artists like Ziak or Gazo. 667 and Lyonzon, the latter led by Ashe22, both embrace this singular, shadowy aesthetic that defines their identity. Staying true to that vision, Doc OVG has just dropped the video for his track Au-dessus.
Doc OVG drops the visual for Au-dessus, from Para Bellum 1!
Like the rest of the project, Au-dessus is produced by Richie Beats, with additional credits going to Congo Bill. Richie Beats is no newcomer—he’s behind iconic tracks like Tony Sosa and Pinocchio for Booba, has worked with Dinos, and appears on Alpha Wann’s most recent project. As for Congo Bill, a “house” rapper and producer from the Ligue des Ombres, he’s a prolific yet low-key architect of the Freeze Corleone universe, with credits alongside Django and the entire 667 crew on 669 Part.2.
The track is fully rooted in the codes of this underground scene: minimalistic, ominous, and intentionally unsettling. It’s a signature sound that sets this French drill school—shaped by 667—apart from the standard fare of Francophone rap.
Doc OVG remains true to this radical and enigmatic artistic line. The video was entrusted to Piege Studio, a visual collective deeply embedded in this sonic galaxy. They frequently collaborate with Ashe22, Lyonzon, and the 667 collective. Among their notable works: the visuals for 7AR (Ashe22), Moneygram Part.3 (Nahir and Freeze Corleone), and Shavkat by Freeze Corleone.
