Booba and Benash drop “DD”: a decade after “Validée”, the duo strikes again

In 2015, Booba marked a pivotal moment in his career by landing his very first track on NRJ. With “Validée”, Booba and Benash exploded onto the charts with a high-energy reggaeton hit. Once considered a fringe genre in the French rap scene, reggaeton gradually made its way into the playlists of top-tier artists — although baile funk has since taken the spotlight. With a bold use of autotune, early adoption of trap, and a constant fusion of urban styles, the DUC has never been one to simply follow trends — he anticipates them. Always keeping a close watch on what’s happening across the Atlantic, he stays ahead of the curve.

In 2017, Booba and Benash reunited on “Ghetto”, a track that, while not as impactful as “Validée”, reinforced the strength of their musical chemistry. Ten years later, with Benash continuing his artistic journey, the DUC teams up once again with one of his earliest protégés for “DD” (short for “Désiré Doué”), paying tribute to the rising football star from Paris Saint-Germain. Following Doué’s legendary performance in the Champions League final, Booba celebrated with the track “Dolce Camara”, interpreting the moment as fate — a perfect occasion to create a true anthem for PSG. While Liverpool sings victory to You’ll Never Walk Alone, and clubs like Real Madrid and FC Barcelona boast iconic chants, the Parisian side had long relied on synth-heavy tunes reminiscent of the “80s”.

Booba and Benash drop “DD”: a decade after “Validée”, the duo strikes again

Released on July 25, 2025, “DD” pays homage to Désiré Doué and his unforgettable double goal during the Champions League final with PSG.

The track is produced by Ghenda, a seasoned beatmaker and close collaborator of Booba. He recently worked with the rapper on the electro-inspired single “Nautilus”, released via SubLife. Ghenda is also behind hits like “Medellin” and “Story X” for Niska, and “Comportement” for Aya. As with “Validée” and “Ghetto”, this latest collaboration between Booba and Benash hits hard — upbeat, catchy, and made to shake the speakers.

In his verses, Booba takes a direct shot at LaMal, following a jab from journalist Amal:

“We know you’re not tough, run fast like Yamal (Yamal)
Your stats? Non-existent (non-existent), like LaMal’s show
Eight hundred ten horses parked, stuck in the garage (stuck)
Lambo convoy — but there’s no wedding”

Benash also throws it back to their 2015 collab:

“I had him validated, SACEM still pays the fee
Guilty, I plead the fifth like Thugger at the hearing”

But there’s a twist — Désiré Doué has yet to share “DD” on his own platforms, a surprising silence given that he used “Dolce Camara” as the soundtrack to his presentation. For now, Booba and Benash are waiting… in their own way.
