In 2023, TK unveiled his ambitious project, Avant la fête, an album featuring high-profile collaborations with Fresh La Douille, AM La Scampia, Aymane Serhani, Lujipeka, and Enima.
True to his enigmatic image, the artist continues to maintain his anonymity behind his mask. In an interview with Brut, he explained why:
“I love being at peace. But there are downsides too. Sometimes people say, ‘Wesh, he acts like a star?’…”
With his new single, Koala, TK shares a glimpse of his life, balancing reality and fiction.
TK Turns His Life Into Reality TV with “Koala”!
For this track, TK teamed up with talented beatmaker Samzer, known for working with artists from Jul’s “galaxy”. He notably produced Un Siphon and Samedi soir for Gips.
This isn’t his first collaboration with TK, as he also crafted the instrumental for his previous hit, Le Cartel de Ali.
With Koala, TK explores a new side of his musical universe. More melodic and uplifting, this track marks an artistic shift, where the rapper leans more into singing than rapping.
An Introspective Narrative
In this song, TK delivers a raw and sincere reflection on his journey as an artist:
“Mamacita, all curvy, she’s sulking, she’s annoyed
I can’t get enough (It’s la vida loca)
I poured too much in my cup, measured it like my pain”
The music video stays true to TK’s identity, oscillating between shadows and light. Always careful to preserve his anonymity, he takes us into his world, shifting between wild nights with his Colombiana and the spotlight of club performances.
A deep dive into a blurred reality where the lines between his artistic and personal life slowly disappear.
