DJ Kore presents Brr with Alonzo and ElGrandeToto!

In the early 2000s, DJ Kore launched the very first installment of Raï’n’B Fever. This innovative project aimed to merge Maghrebian and urban cultures, creating a true bridge between these two musical worlds. It gave rise to iconic tracks such as Bienvenue chez les Bylkas by Sinik, featuring Big Ali, and the timeless hit Sobri, a duet by Leslie and Amine, narrating an impossible love story. After a period of absence, the essential French producer has returned with multiple projects under his belt, including soundtracks for Taxi and the film Viens pécho. Now, he is back in the spotlight with a new chapter of the legendary saga Raï’n’B Fever.

The latest track from this musical universe is Brr, performed by Alonzo and ElGrandeToto. The Moroccan rapper, who has long left his mark on the French scene, continues to collaborate with major figures in French rap, including Leto, Kaaris, Lefa, and Hamza.

DJ Kore needs no introduction. Active in the rap scene since the late 1990s, he has worked with some of the biggest names and now leads the label A.W.A, which notably produces Zola. Among his most remarkable compositions are tracks like Fusil and Champs-Élysées for SCH, as well as Corleone for Lacrim.

In keeping with the pure tradition of Raï’n’B Fever, this new track offers a seamless fusion of Maghrebian sounds and urban culture. It features a touch of modernized Moroccan Shaabi, while staying distinct from the electro tones of chaabi by Acid Arab.

With Brr, Alonzo and ElGrandeToto deliver a high-energy track, blending punchy gimmicks and ego-tripping lyrics in both Arabic and French. This track perfectly embodies the essence of this collective project, born in the 2000s. Today, many artists continue to blend North African cultures with urban influences. Lartiste, for instance, reinvents a long-forgotten style, while Ziak, to a lesser extent, incorporates Arabic instruments into his drill tracks. Rim’K, with his famous Tonton du bled, had already paved the way by mixing derbouka rhythms with rap culture. More recently, he collaborated with Sofiane Pamart to honor his roots.

The music video for Brr, directed by Keasy, immerses viewers in an electrifying atmosphere. It also pays homage to Leslie, a key figure in the early Raï’n’B Fever compilations, by proudly displaying her gold record on screen. A master of impactful visuals, Arthur Keasy has also directed videos for Probation by Gazo, Movie by L2B, and Un peu by Oboy.
